Wisconsin EMS Subcommittee Applications

The Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Board Subcommittee application process is now open effective April 28, 2025, through 4 p.m. on May 19, 2025.

This email is being sent on behalf of Jerry Biggart, Chairperson of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Board.  

The EMS Board is recruiting qualified EMS professionals to participate in the EMS Board Subcommittees.Subcommittee members assist in addressing specific issues and developing recommendations. The goal of every subcommittee is to achieve the highest quality and standards possible for the Wisconsin EMS system which in turn delivers the best pre-hospital care to citizens and visitors of Wisconsin.  

EMS Board subcommittees 

  • Physicians Advisory Committee (must be a physician & EMS Medical Director) 
  • System Quality and Data Subcommittee
  • Education and Training Subcommittee 
  • System Management and Development Subcommittee 
  • Human Relations Subcommittee  
  • Rural EMS Subcommittee 

Expectations of EMS Board subcommittee members 

  • Term is one year starting July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.  
  • Subcommittee members do not receive compensation or reimbursement. 
  • Subcommittee members provide recommendations based on the effect to the entire Wisconsin EMS system versus individual service, geographic area, or representational groups.  
  • Subcommittee members only serve on one subcommittee per term unless appointed by the EMS Board Chair to a second subcommittee.  
  • Subcommittee members are expected to participate in all scheduled meetings and complete work projects outside of meetings.  
  • In-person attendance, when appliable, to subcommittee meetings is a high priority. There are currently four regularly scheduled in-person meetings per year in Madison or surrounding area.  
    • The Human Relations Subcommittee currently conducts all meetings virtually.   
    • The Rural EMS Committee currently conducts all meetings virtually and in the evening.

Application process

For new applicants: submit a completed application, F-00568 to the Wisconsin EMS Sectionby 4 p.m. on May 19, 2025. Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.  PAC applicants must be a physician and EMS Service Medical Director. 

For incumbents: submit a letter of intent to maintain membership to the Wisconsin EMS Sectionby 4 p.m. on May 19, 2025. Letters received after this date and time will not be considered.  

Selection process for subcommittee membership

The completed applications are provided to the EMS Board membership for review and selection during the June 4, 2025, meeting.  The EMS Board meeting agenda will be posted on the Wisconsin Public Meeting Notices & Minutes website. If elected to a subcommittee, the chairperson of the subcommittee will contact applicants by email.
