We are proud to announce that Bailee Espelien will represent Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service at the PAAW Stars of Life event in Madison, Wisconsin, this October. Bailee has been nominated by her peer, Sawyer, who states, "Bailee is a joy to work with. She serves not only as a paramedic but also as a shift lead, trainer, educator, and mentor for a peer support group at Mayo Clinic."
In addition to her regular duties, Bailee has actively participated in research and recently had the opportunity to present at a conference in California. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, loves the lake in the summer, and follows gymnastics and hockey during the winter months.
Bailee's journey in Emergency Medical Services began unexpectedly. While waiting to enter a Kinesiology program, she took an EMT course over the summer, which ignited her passion for EMS. This led her to enroll in the paramedic program the following fall. Bailee reflects, "I am passionate about helping people and being able to be that comfort to someone in what could be a very vulnerable time in their life."
Bailee’s supervisor, Kirk writes, “Bailee is a dedicated paramedic whose compassion and expertise shine through in every aspect of her work. As a paramedic field training officer, she not only delivers critical care in high-pressure situations but also mentors new team members with patience, wisdom, and unwavering support. In her role as a lead, Bailee sets the standard for professionalism, accountability, and empathy, fostering a team environment rooted in trust and excellence. Beyond her impressive credentials, Bailee is a true friend and genuinely good person—always ready to lend a hand, offer a kind word, or go the extra mile for those around her. Her presence uplifts everyone she encounters, making her a valued and admired figure both in and out of uniform.”
Congratulations to Bailee Espelien on being the 2025 Wisconsin Star of Life recipient for Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service. Her dedication, compassion, and excellence in her field are truly inspiring.
Congratulations, Bailee!
