Raising the colors to honor Wisconsin's EMTs
May 14, 2014 - Run Time 13m:02sec
Guest: Craig Nelson, Executive Officer, Wisconsin EMS Honor Guard
It’s the mission of the Wisconsin EMS Honor Guard to ensure fallen members of the EMS profession are given the honor, respect and dignity they deserve for the vital service in public safety they so willingly provided to their communities. Besides attending funerals at the request of families or an EMS service, the Honor Guard also attends parades, opening ceremonies and events in presentation of the colors. If you’ve never experienced their work, it is a moving experience – especially when you add in the bag pipes.
The Wisconsin EMS Honor Guard is currently sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit the National EMS Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Members of their group will be traveling there this June, and they would like to present a check on behalf of EMTs in Wisconsin. Listen to this webcast to find out more about their efforts from Wisconsin EMS Honor Guard Executive Officer Craig Nelson.
This webcast is an inspiration and timely tribute, especially as we prepare to enter National EMS Week and the recognition it brings. We closeout the webcast with a moving bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace. Listen now!
