Maintain Your Local EMS Identity
September 19, 2012 - Run Time 26:50
Guest: Ernie Rodriguez, EMS Chief, Austin-Travis County EMS, Austin, Texas
In this webcast we go on the road to Green Bay. On September 19, 2012, Ernie Rodriguez provided the keynote address at the Paramedic Systems of Wisconsin conference.
Rodriguez is the Chief at Austin-Travis County Texas EMS, one of the most highly respected county EMS systems in the nation. In 2010, he was presented the Executive of the Year Award by the National EMS Management Association, and in 2011 was named EMS Administrator of the Year by the Texas Dept of State Health Services. He oversees an EMS system that handles over 112,000 calls annually.
In delivering his keynote address “Maintain Your Local EMS Identity”, Chief Rodriguez admitted to re-writing his speech following a Lambeau Field tour the day before, and how he was touched by the GO PACK GO mantra and the Green Bay Packers experience. He found tribute and history in the tour and did a masterful job of weaving it into a message about recognizing your local EMS history and how it defines your identity.
