Feeling the Pinch: IV Fluids Remain in Limited Supply
March 18, 2014 - Run Time 13:50
Guest: Stacey Barksdale Price, Product Manager of IV Therapy and Pharmaceuticals, Bound Tree Medical
Those who are responsible for managing or ordering medical supplies know the backorder problems with pharmaceutical drugs and IV fluids commonly used in EMS. There are reasons apparently for all of this, but the bottom line is the confusion and frustration these product delays are causing throughout the nation.
Two years ago we reported on the ongoing drug backorder problem and some temporary measures to take in product substitution or going a few days past expiration dates. Now, the backorder story continues, but with IV fluids. All of this will come to an end, but when?
To get that question answered and the latest information, we contacted Stacey Barksdale Price at Bound Tree Medical, the largest EMS product distributor in the U.S. Her information is timely and informative in this webcast interview.
