April 13, 2012 - Run Time 11:25
Guest: Debbie Rickelman, Senior Director, Information Center, Wisconsin Hospital Association
& Chairperson, Wisconsin ICD-10 Collaborative Committee
Recently, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed delaying the effective date for use of the ICD-10 patient coding and billing system from October 1, 2013 to October 1, 2014. The date change will not be official until published as part of a final rule. However, HHS does not anticipate serious opposition to delaying the ICD-10 effective date.
As an EMS chief, director, or manager you might be asking yourself “What does ICD-10 mean?” and “What impact will it have on my operation?” The answer to both questions is easy. It can be confusing and it will make a difference. The bottom line: Get ICD-10 on your radar screen.
This webcast is dedicated to answering your questions about ICD-10 and how it will change things from EMS field staff documentation, EMS patient billing and cash flow management.
Our webcast guest is Debbie Rickelman, Senior Director for the Information Center at the Wisconsin Hospital Association and chairperson of Wisconsin’s ICD-10 Collaborative Committee.
