EMS 2020 Vision Report and More with A.J.
March 5, 2014 - Run Time 15:05
Guest:  A.J. Heightman, Editor-in-Chief, JEMS and EMS Today Conference

According to a 2020 Vision project underwritten by Ferno and published by JEMS, EMS is experiencing an unprecedented period of change--an evolution in equipment, protocols, technology, and response practices.

EMS is not immune to change, change is constant. An important question to ask is, “How will change and opportunity shape the future of EMS?” The 2020 Vision report looked at four areas of change, to include:  the need to build a Culture of Safety to enhance the safety of our crews and patients, the birth of Community Practice Paramedicine, the way we respond to "unscheduled" care calls, and strides in resuscitation and trauma medicine.

I reviewed the 2020 Vision document.  I couldn’t think of a better person to discuss it with than A.J. Heightman, Editor-in-Chief at JEMS.  Besides the 2020 Vision document, A.J. also offers his perspective and future predictions on topics like continuing to advance BLS and the importance of succession planning.
