Critical Care Paramedic Update
February 5, 2013 - Run Time 8:17
Guest:
Fred Hornby, Paramedic Coordinator, State of Wisconsin EMS Office

Critical Care Paramedic came to life at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2013.  The man at the center of it is Fred Hornby, Paramedic Coordinator for the State of Wisconsin EMS Office.

According to Mr. Hornby, 44 ambulance services made the move to CCP, while 25 kept their paramedic designation and simply added additional medications.  This is good for Wisconsin and the communities, patients and hospitals these ambulance services serve in providing inter-facility transportation.

While most things we do in EMS is a continuum of learning and change, CCP is no different.  The next step is to educate hospitals about the benefits and service level CCP offers.
