Wisconsin EMS Advisory Board

The EMS Advisory Board provides recommendations directly to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Board members are appointed by the Governor. Listed below is a summary of the roles and duties of the EMS Advisory Board.

Statutory Duties:

• Appoints EMS Physician Advisory Committee

• Periodically review and make recommendations on rules changes

• Provide review and recommendations to the Department on department proposed rule changes

• Provide recommendations to the Department on the funding assistance program

• Provide review and recommendations to the Department on preparation of mandated reports

The EMS Advisory Board makes recommendations to the Department on general EMS issues either assigned by legislation or raised by members of the public. Medical issues are referred to the Physician Advisory Committee.
